Ditching the Diet Coke

Most of you who know me, know that I am a Diet Coke (DC) addict.

I have been drinking it for around 25 years. And I am not talking about 1-2 a day...try 60+ ounces of the stuff PER DAY. Most days it's all I drank. And if I didn't have one by 10am, I had a monster headache by noon. In the past couple of years, I have noticed my memory failing me. My husband would claim we had conversations that I couldn't recall, my kids would tell me I had told them something that I couldn't remember, and I was forgetting about errands I needed to run (like picking up eggs at my friend Elisa's house, sorry Elisa!). It was getting worse and worse.
On another note, over the past year, I have managed to lose around 25lbs. And I would really like to get that last 10 pounds off but have not been able to and I think the DC may be the culprit. I know what your thinking IT'S DIET! Well research is showing that aspartame (the artificial sweetener in DC) can keep you from losing weight. And while it doesn't necessarily cause you to gain weight, it can make it very hard to get rid of those last few pounds. Besides that little nugget of information, the sodium DC causes you to retain fluid. And nobody wants water weight keeping them from fitting in those skinny jeans (not that I would ever wear skinny jeans...no way)!!

Enter NingXia Red

In my effort to get healthier (and hopefully drop those last few pounds) I have been doing 2oz of NingXia Red every morning. They come in these 2oz singles that are oh so convenient. So anyway, at this same time, I happened to be out of Diet Coke at my house and running late the last couple of mornings preventing me from stopping to get some more. So I would drive on to work, get my morning started and before I knew it, it was lunch time....and I hadn't craved a DC....or had a headache! This is huge for me! Every time I have tried to quit DC in the past, I have always ended up with a monster headache. Like, so bad, that I couldn't even sleep it off, or take meds to fix it (this was before my oily lifestyle change). So for me to be on day 3, not craving DC, not having a headache and drinking a lot of water??? Well that is a win in my book!! And hopefully, it will help me lose a few pounds too!!

If you would also like to ditch the sodas and/or coffee, I can help you join this oily bandwagon and get you started. Just let me know.

Why I Chose Young Living

Back in October, John and I took the kids to National Night Out in Pilot Point. The kids, played, John and I perused the vendors and we ALL ate a ton of food. One of the booths that we stopped by was the Young Living Booth. While I was trying to keep an eye on my monsters (and a few of their friends) John got the low down on these little bottles of liquid gold. John and I had been trying to get healthier and use less prescription drugs so this seemed like the next logical step to him.
He ordered the Premium Starter Kit and 2 bottles of NingXia Red.
As we started receiving emails from Young Living, I started looking into this essential oil stuff. Oddly (insert sarcasm here) we didn't do any research before jumping on board but John had read a little about essential oils and we jumped in feet first. I figured as long as we were doing this, I should start figuring out how to use these wonderful little liquids and boy was I surprised!! There are a million different uses for these oils. Everything from treating allergies with these oils:

to making all natural cleaners for the house with this oil:

And a whole arsenal of other oils and uses!

Not only that, but the research I did regarding Young Living as a company was very impressive. Not only has Gary Young (owner) patented his own distillation process to ensure quality but he oversees EVERY aspect of the process, from Seed-to-Seal! And they test every single batch of oil for quality.

And after all this research , I am confident we made the right decision to go with Young Living. And then I started looking into being a distributor. I have never been good at sales, but my passion and belief in this company and these oils make sharing it easy. And the business just comes naturally even though I had sworn off any type of MLM after my stint with a jewelry company. But YL is different. It's not a "frivolity" and you don't have to "push" it. All I have to do is share it and answer questions. The product sells itself. It is quality  and improves lives. It's a way to become healthy and get off all the chemicals we are on. It was a way to get my daughters and husband of their asthma meds. It was a way to quit exposing ourselves to toxic chemicals in my home.  And who can argue with that?

So that's my why....whats yours?
